Director's Message

It gives me a great pleasure to welcome you, on behalf of the Corporate Data Centre (CDC) team to our official webpage.

The COVID-19 pandemic has severely altered the way we live, work and play. What was normal has changed drastically, forcing us to work outside our comfort zones but at the same time pushing us to take data and critical information to new frontiers of creativity and engagement. We have also witnessed power of collaboration at an unprecedented level in the global higher learning sector.

In CDC, we are working hard to apply knowledge and skills on data analytics to inform a significant evidence-based decisions towards tackling not only the current challenges but also ensuring future preparedness. I am delighted to see CDO playing a strategic role in the continuous monitoring and evaluation process of University Malaya (UM)’s performance in the global rankings.

For many years, CDC has been instrumental in the coordination of UM’s institutional data for submission and reporting to all relevant stakeholders, local and international. The team also plays a key role in monitoring UM’s competitiveness when benchmarked against other global higher learning institutions to ensure UM upholds its status as one of the formidable players in the global higher education arena. I am certain, the work done by this team is an invaluable reference and source of information for the University to review and track UM’s capabilities and capacity internally as well as our competitiveness in the upcoming years.

I am personally excited about the possibilities that can be unlocked in terms of strengthening data-driven, evidence-based decision making and forging meaningful collaborations for impact creation and delivering value to the internal and external communities of the University.
